Where books are burned people are burned...
Humans must not have learned from the Holocaust. During the Nazi regime, millions of books were burned to deny Germans the ability to read the ideas of others, and form opinions based on that knowledge.
Now a church in Florida, Dove World Outreach Center, is planning to burn copies of the Qu'ran in protest over what the call the work of the devil. Now, I may or may not believe that, but if history has taught us any thing it is that the suppression of ideas by force only fuels those ideas, like gasoline on a fire. While they have the right, I suppose, to burn anything which does not consitute a danger to people, (which evidently it does), I do oppose their reasoning. Article is here...
There has been a lot of talk and interest in the so called "Lost Gospels" in the media especially the History Channel. They were never "lost". The ideas contained therein, it was realized were false. They were religated to the dust bin of history.
The Qu'ran is false, it too will be relegated to the dustbin.
The Catholic Church had relized the inquisition led to over zealousness and has been left behind. Perhaps the Dove World Outreach Center, could learn the lesson that God converts, but sheperding(1) rarely does.

Student Arraigned in Anti-Muslim Stabbing of Cabdriver

Update, 5:24 p.m. | The man charged with the anti-Muslim slashing and stabbing of a cabdriver was arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Manhattan Criminal Court on charges of second-degree attempted murder as a hate crime, first-degree assault as a hate crime and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
An emergency medical technician said that had the cut been any deeper or longer, the driver would have died, prosecutors said.

Mother Teresa vs. the Empire State Building
For years, enfant terrible Christopher Hitchens has been a rather solitary voice in his refusal to join millions of people in admiring Nobel Peace Laureate Mother Teresa for her work with the poor of Kolkata. Upon her beatification, Mr. Hitchens called her “a fanatic, a fundamentalist and a fraud.” Now he seems to have some company in the Empire State Building’s Anthony Malkin, who has steadfastly refused to light up the building in blue and white on Aug. 26, her 100th birthday if she had still been alive.
Protesters are expected to converge on the building on her birthday at 6:00 p.m. EST to speak against the decision not to light up the building in blue and white, Politics Daily’s Religion Reporter David Gibson said Thursday. Here’s a list of folks who’ll be speaking at the rally.
Mr. Malkin, president of Malkin Holdings, which supervises the building, has said that the iconic skyscraper celebrates Easter, Eid, Hanukkah and Christmas, but refrains from marking religious figures.
“As a privately owned building, ESB has a specific policy against any other lighting for religious figures or requests by religions and religious organizations,” he said, according to an ABC News report in June.
The Catholic activist group, the Catholic League, first started broadcasting the issue in May, when they announced that their request to have the building lit up for Mother Teresa had met with a refusal. Since then the organization has been contacting Catholic and other organizations to rally around the issue.
Many have asked the building’s management to reconsider. New York City Council member Peter Vallone Jr. even brought a bill to get the building to come around.
The New York Daily News said (a little hopefully, we think) that the Mother, who was born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu to an Albanian family in Skopje, Macedonia, has struck the Empire State building with a curse in retaliation. The New York Post preferred to describe it as a haunting. Why? Because on the eve of her birthday, the New York City council approved a rival office tower coming up just a few blocks away at 15 Penn Plaza, even after the Empire State Building’s management argued against it. The skyscraper is also apparently battling bedbugs, the Daily News said.
Still, admirers of the “Angel of Mercy,” who came to India when she was just 20, should take heart from the fact that many others will be celebrating her today, the National Catholic Register says. Miami plans to pay tribute with lights, as will Times Square in Manhattan and Borough Hall in Brooklyn. The Empire State Building, meanwhile, will be in red, white and blue to mark Women’s Equality Day.

Did you know...... that, according to Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi, Mecca is "in perfect alignment with the magnetic north"?
... but, according to Abdel-Baset al-Sayyed of the Egyptian National Research Centre, there is "no magnetic force in Mecca?"
... and as a result, "you get charged with energy" when you go there (sorry, you'll just have to eat your veggies, infidel), and "that's why if someone travels to Mecca or lives there, he lives longer, is healthier and is less affected by the earth's gravity"?
All of these claims are being floated in connection with a desire to replace Greenwich Observatory with Mecca as the marker of the prime meridian -- making the center of the Islamic religion the center of international timekeeping. It is an absurd story, though it is plausible to suppose any number of European and American dhimmis would go for this sort of thing.
Amid the absurdity, the common thread with other manifestations of the Islamic supremacist agenda, is that they'll say anything to get what they want. And all too many will go in for it, hook, line, and sinker.

For more than a century, a point on the top of a hill in south-east London has been recognised as the centre of world time and the official starting point of each new day.
But now the supremacy of Greenwich Mean Time is being challenged by a gargantuan new clock being built in Mecca, by which the world's 1.5 billion Muslims could soon be setting their watches.
Due to start ticking on Thursday as the faithful begin fasting during the month of Ramadan, the timepiece sits atop the Royal Mecca Clock Tower which dominates Islam's holiest city.
It is at the heart of a vast complex funded by the Saudi government that will also house hotels, shopping malls and conference halls.
Bearing a striking resemblance to both St Stephen's Tower, which houses the bell of Big Ben, and the Empire State Building, the Saudi upstart aims to out do its revered British rival in every way.
The clock's four faces are 151ft in diameter and will be illuminated by 2million LED lights along with huge Arabic script reading: "In the name of Allah". The clock will run on Arabia Standard Time which is three hours ahead of GMT.
When a glittering spire is added, topped with a crescent to symbolise Islam, the edifice will stand at nearly 2,000 ft, making it the world's second tallest building.
The clock of Big Ben, by comparison, is just 23ft in diameter, while its tower stands at a mere 316ft.
Residents of Mecca will also be reminded that it is time to pray when 21,000 green and white lights, visible at a distance of 18 miles, flash five times a day.
But Islamic scholars hope the clock's influence will stretch far further than the sands of Saudi Arabia, as part of a plan for Mecca to eclipse the Greenwich Observatory as the "true centre of the earth".
For the past 125 years, the international community has accepted that the start of each day should be measured from the prime meridian, representing 0 degrees longitude, which passes through the Greenwich Observatory.
A standard time by which other clocks were set was needed to organise global travel and communications, but in the Islamic world the idea that it should be centred on a part of London is seen as a colonial anachronism.

As Mohammed al-Arkubi, manager of one of the hotels in the complex, put it: "Putting Mecca time in the face of Greenwich Mean Time. This is the goal."
According to Yusuf al-Qaradawi, an Egyptian cleric known around the Muslim world for his popular television show "Sharia and Life", Mecca has a greater claim to being the prime meridian because it is "in perfect alignment with the magnetic north."
This claim that the holy city is a "zero magnetism zone" has won support from some Arab scientists like Abdel-Baset al-Sayyed of the Egyptian National Research Centre who says that there is no magnetic force in Mecca.
"That's why if someone travels to Mecca or lives there, he lives longer, is healthier and is less affected by the earth's gravity," he said. "You get charged with energy."
Not so fast:
Western scientists have challenged such assertions, noting that the Magnetic North Pole is in actual fact on a line of longitude that passes through Canada, the United States, Mexico and Antarctica.

Maureen Dowd and the Left: All Race, All the Time

Does anyone grasp that this obsession with racial identity in an increasingly multiracial society is outright insanity, both politically and culturally? — Victor Davis Hanson
Any conservatives who believed that our nation’s unofficial pastime, “All Race All the Time,” would become passé with the election of Barack Obama were proven wrong just minutes into his inauguration. Despite the presence of the racially mixed Obama eagerly awaiting the award of the mighty pen of power, yet another of my former senator’s race-obsessed pastors encouraged white Americans to “embrace what is right.” One would have thought we had already done so, but the joke was on us. It seems justice in the present can never transcend sins of the past. Sins, of course, that none of us alive were alive to commit.
Not even a month into the 44th presidency, Attorney General Eric Holder compounded the insult to rank-and-file Americans by informing us that “in things racial” our country remains “a nation of cowards.” How ironic as were it not for white guiltist neurotics, Obama would still be playing Class A ball in the Illinois senate.
How our country got duped into elevating to the highest office a far leftist whose views are out of touch with those of the average citizen still perplexes, but Mr. Holder must be pleased by the efforts of this particular conservative to address race relations.
I’ve attempted to steer my countrymen in the direction of more productive conversations regarding race, yet our public square remains bound by the bands of a Jesse Jackson Mobius Strip when it comes to inter-group harmony.
During the recent hullaballoo over the New Black Panthers we discovered that the real racists were not the men who shouted incendiary racial threats, but instead those at Fox News who dared to make known the Justice Department’s corruption.
This event was followed up by Breitbart-gate in which the man behind BigGovernment.com showed a clip of bureaucrat Shirley Sherrod giving a speech that acknowledged past discriminatory behavior on her part.
Unfortunately, the portion of the monologue he used was out of context. This resulted in the media attacking Breitbart en masse. Their goal was to discourage the right from ever again identifying incidents of black racism.
They denounced Mr. Breitbart as a racist (yawn). They claimed that he “fooled America — again.” A one-word response suffices: poppycock. A perusal of Mrs. Sherrod’s entire speech reveals that she is what we originally suspected: a dedicated race baiter.
She equated Republican disagreement with President Obama over the issue of socialist health care with racism.
Specifically she proclaimed:
You know, I haven’t seen such a mean-spirited people as I’ve seen lately over this issue of health care. Some of the racism we thought was buried. Didn’t it surface? Now, we endured eight years of the Bushes and we didn’t do the stuff these Republicans are doing because you have a black president.
No, madam, we resist government takeover of the financial industry, health care, the auto industry, and free speech due to a sincere aversion to socialism. Conservatives ardently believe in the rights of the individual. Leftists do not.
We clash resoundingly with President Obama on most issues. We especially reject the notion that “our individual salvation depends on collective salvation.” In fact, the opposite is true.
While it is helpful for Mrs. Sherrod to articulate her dysfunction and irrational resentment towards 42 percent of the electorate, justifications for conservative positions are not actually necessary on this occasion.
Mrs. Sherrod’s claims are risible at the prima facie level. Race is irrelevant in regards to health care, and we know this due to the two-year donnybrook waged against the Clinton administration’s attempt to initiate universal health care during the early nineties.
Yet race, race, race is what the left must focus on. Given that Washington could not find fault with Bernie Madoff, accurately bury heroes at Arlington National Cemetery, run the post office, or supervise oil rigs, there is no way the Democrats could convince voters that the federocracy can responsibly administer health care to 307 million people via argumentation.
More than ever, it seems that the only way to save our country from dissolution is to vote the leftists out of office and terminate their reign of power drunk error.
Amidst 18 months of racial paranoia, aggression, and calumny better left unsaid, New York Times pundit and wannabe member of The View Maureen Dowd weighed in/added to the strife. She wrote a column seeking to nudge the Obama administration into being even more racialist than it already is.
Its title, “You’ll Never Believe What This White House Is Missing,” beggars belief. Every conservative intuited what Ms. Dowd desired before reading a single word. We knew it had to be something along the vapid lines of fashion, style, or toxic variations on themes involving sex and race.
Dowd advocates for the later in this instance. She begins with her conclusion:
The Obama White House is too white. … Obama lacks advisers who are descended from the central African-American experience, ones who understand “the slave thing,” as a top black Democrat dryly puts it.
Well, after a trip to see the real gibbering harridans of The View we find that not even President Obama himself understands the African-American experience. In answer to a question from one of the hosts, he said, concerning half of his relations:
We are sort of a mongrel people. I mean we’re all kind of mixed up. Now that’s actually true for white America as well, but we just know more about it.
What can one say in response to such gibberish? Most folks were either confounded or offended by his answer. This renders absurd Ms. Dowd’s earlier statement that he “appears completely comfortable in his own skin.”
Mongrel? That is a most interesting and bizarre term to use in reference to an ethnic group so sensitive that they are simultaneously repulsed and moved to donate by the exact same combination of syllables.
Obviously, had anyone on the right merely whispered “mongrel” in the same sentence as “black” they could never run for office again. They would be fired from whatever job they held. Yet for Obama the rules are different. He may say whatever he wishes. Racist is an insult reserved for Republicans.
Obama further elucidated his rampant hypocrisy when he later claimed not to be interested in “how we label ourselves” yet he clarified his own — and pervasive — racial obsession during the census when he marked the box reserved for “Black, African Am., or Negro” alone.
Perhaps his belief in nuance is not as devout as that of your average leftist. Ms. Dowd hopes it is otherwise, however. She recommends:
[Rather than] give Sherrod her old job back … [h]e should give her a new job: Director of Black Outreach. This White House needs one.
That is probably the last thing they need. A room containing only President Obama holds more racialist cheerleaders that any healthy organization can maintain, but such a make-work job is deleterious for America itself.
Extra overpaid bureaucrats devoid of talent and steeped in ideology will only make the present disaster worse. What we need most is an end to our “all race all the time” mindset.
If the left followed the lead of conservatives and simply treated their fellow citizens as individuals we might (finally!) get along with one another.
Yet the ongoing calamitous affair in Arizona highlights that the Democrats are vested in the balkanization of what was once unquestionably the greatest country on Earth. Al Gore’s notorious Freudian slip — he incorrectly translated the national motto of E pluribus unum as “out of one, many” — portended the future strategy of our opponents.
In answer to the question posed by our champion Dr. Hanson, it seems that only conservatives covet living in a post-racial society. Ms. Dowd and Mrs. Sherrod should realize that racial blindness is a conservative thing. They’ll never get it.

Al Gore’s notorious Freudian slip — he incorrectly translated the national motto of E pluribus unum as “out of one, many” — portended the future strategy of our opponents.
In answer to the question posed by our champion Dr. Hanson, it seems that only conservatives covet living in a post-racial society. Ms. Dowd and Mrs. Sherrod should realize that racial blindness is a conservative thing. They’ll never get it.
